This year’s ride was a huge success following deep in tradition. We had 130 registered women riders and about the same on the men’s side of this event.
Many others rode in for the barbecue, silent auction and to hear excellent live musical performances by Peter Mitchell and Elissa Baron.
Her Honour, Judith Guichon, The Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia was our guest of honour and was well received by the riders.
The Canadian Women’s Ride Day was Proclaimed in the Province of British Columbia’s House Of Parliament. The third week of July shall now be known as “Canadian Women’s Ride Day”.
This Year we had riders from Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Quebec. We also had some very impressive ladies join us from the USA, riding thousands of miles to collaborate with their sisters, and brothers.
Amy Skaling from Utah
Michelle Wirezgac From Chicago
Sunset Rad from New Mexico
Susan Louckes from Idaho
These ladies rode great distances to join us for our 4th annual ride and have all committed to return for our 5th annual ride this summer on July 15th & 16th, 2017. The CWRD foundation was thrilled to raise over $10,000 which is going to local women’s organizations.
The foundation’s board and committee members work year round to bring this event to riders and we are already excited to build upon our successes and move forward with the July 2017th event!
